Interior Design & Interior Architecture
A deeper kind of beauty, designed from the walls in.
I spent twenty-three years designing homes for some of Los Angeles' most private clients. Now I work directly with families building a custom home of their own.

The Studio
The experience of an established design house, with a personal touch.
For more than two decades I was Design Director at Joan Behnke & Associates, designing homes for celebrities and business leaders from Beverly Hills to New York. Our projects were on the covers of Architectural Digest, Harper's Bazaar, Interiors and Robb Report's Ultimate Homes. What made them work was the detail: millwork drawn to the sixteenth of an inch, stone picked slab by slab, furniture made for one particular room.
I start every project by getting to know the people who will live there: how you use your home, what you collect, what you would change about the house you have now. The design grows out of that.
Choice Interiors is my own studio, in Redondo Beach. You work with me directly, from the first look at your floor plans until the last piece of art is on the wall.
Design Philosophy
I design for a deeper kind of beauty, the kind that persists through the years. A home should feel like a discovery, with meaning behind every choice.

What I do
Interior architecture is the part of the work I care about most: ceilings, door casings, millwork, fireplaces, stairs. I like to be involved before the walls go up, because that is where a house gets its character.

Choice Interiors is a new, independent practice, built on twenty-three years of high-end residential design.
Background
For more than two decades I was Design Director at Joan Behnke & Associates in Beverly Hills, where I helped the studio grow from four people to more than twenty. With the firm I worked on homes for private clients in entertainment, sports and business, from ground-up estates to complex renovations, in Brentwood, Beverly Hills, San Francisco, Boston, New York and Washington, D.C. Several of those homes appeared on the covers of Architectural Digest, Harper's Bazaar, Interiors and Robb Report's Ultimate Homes.
Those years taught me that a room is largely decided before the furniture arrives: in the height of a ceiling, the profile of a door casing, the detailing around a fireplace. That is the part of the work I care about most, and where good decisions matter most to a client.
The Practice
I founded Choice Interiors to bring the same care to families building or renovating their own homes in Los Angeles and the South Bay. I live in Redondo Beach, and the practice is based here.
My work is often described as transitional: classical proportion with a modern hand, warm natural materials, and vintage and custom pieces that make a house feel lived in rather than finished by formula.

Working Together
Directly with me
You work with me from the first meeting through installation. Decisions are made with the person who designed the house, not passed between layers of staff.
With your team
I work alongside your architect, builder and specialists, so that interior decisions stay connected to the architecture and to the schedule.
Personal, not formulaic
Your home should look like you, not like my last project. The design grows from how you live, what you collect and the house itself.
Services
From floor plan to finished room
Full-service design for custom homes, starting with the interior architecture.
The scope of the practice
Choice Interiors is an interior design practice. Construction, construction management, engineering, permitting and jobsite safety remain with your architect, builder and their consultants. I coordinate closely with them on every design decision, while contractor pricing and schedules stay theirs to manage.
Ideal Projects
Who I work with
Most of my clients are building a custom home from the ground up, or taking on a whole-house renovation, in Los Angeles or the South Bay. They want a home with the craftsmanship of an estate, and they want to work directly with an experienced designer instead of a large team.
The best time to call is before construction drawings are finished. Early involvement lets me shape the interior architecture alongside your architect and builder, which is where the biggest design and budget decisions are made.

Process
A clear process, shaped around each home
Every project differs in scope and timing. These phases describe how the work generally moves, and how it stays connected to the architecture throughout.
